Social Bookmarking

Today's topic is social bookmarking.  Not social networking, but social bookmarking.  If you are like I was, when you hear social bookmarking, you have no idea what that is.  Social bookmarking is a very cool tool that a lot of people use for saving and sharing bookmarks that they use on the web.  If you've ever been frustrated when you use more than one computer because your bookmarks aren't the same on both computers, then you will like social bookmarking.  Social bookmarking is a tool on the internet that allows you to save your bookmarks on a site, like Delicious, so that you can have the same bookmarks on every computer that you use.  The reason why it's called social bookmarking is because you can share your bookmarks with others.  This is great for teachers who want to share cool websites with other teachers who might find them helpful in their classroom.  Every time you bookmark a site, you can also use tags to describe what kind of site it is.  These tags also organize sites into groups with similar tags, so you can search for sites that are tagged with education or science, etc.  Social bookmarking is a very cool and very helpful tool that should definitely be considered by everyone using a computer.
